How We Train
(a.k.a. Our Secret Sauce)
At Happy Hound, we know that no two dogs—or humans—are exactly alike. That’s why we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all training method. Instead, we mix and match proven techniques to bring out the best in your dog.
We start with rewarding good choices and building trust. From there, we introduce different tools and approaches, working with you to find the right fit for your dog’s personality and your goals.
Our training is inspired by The Art of Training Your Dog by the Monks of New Skete which focuses on real-life results, calm leadership, and a stronger bond between you and your happy hound.
Because training should feel good, work well, and give you the results you expect.

Whether your dog needs a quick refresher or a deep dive into obedience, this pay-as-you-go option lets you train at your own pace, with professional support every step of the way.
Add Training to Your Dog’s Daycare Visit. We will work with them outside of their group to introduce or reinforce training skills. Daycare charges apply separately. Daycare rates and packages here »

The 4 Day Hooray Boarding and Training Program is fantastic for those looking to address low to moderate distractions and improve basic etiquette and leash manners. It’s a great way to boost your dog’s training with focused attention quickly.
Our 10 Day Basic Manners Training Program is a perfect fit for new puppies and mild dogs that need work on issues like leash manners, basic ettiquette, and housebreaking.

The Celebrity Rehab & Socialization Package is for dogs with moderate dog aggression who will benefit from strategic socialization.

The Dream Dog Package is best for happy-excitable or stubborn dogs or those with mild separation anxiety or major housebreaking problems. An excellent choice for busy families who want a Dream Dog.
